MoneyMatters

We invite you to contact us by email to know the price of our programs: pakashumeinfo@yahoo.com

A 30% deposit is required at the time of booking. For the time being, we do not accept any credit cards. All payments must be made by wire transfer to our bank account in Arusha, Tanzania. As soon as we've receive your deposit, we'll start making all the necessary reservations for your special trip. Complete payment must be received no later than 60 days before departure, taking into consideration that some wire transfers can take up to 15 days to arrive in Tanzania.

Tipping

Although we pay our staff well, above other safari companies, guides, assistant guides, cooks, drivers and porters do rely on their tips to make up for the fact that there are two low seasons (rain seasons) during the year. Tips are not included in your package price and are left to your discretion. We recommend you bring US$350 for tips, depending on the duration of your stay (in new bills, including many US$1 bills for porters in hotels, maids, waiters, etc.). If you wish to do so, you can give the tips to the Paka Shume Trekkings personnel (myself or my husband, Christopher Maasa, and no one else) for distribution. On the mountain or in safari, never give to Peter the tip that belongs to Paul. Also, tips must be handed out on the last day of the climb or safari.

We provide the following tipping guidelines, but feel free to give more if you judge that the quality of service warrants it.

guide: US$10 per day
driver: US$10 per day
cook: US$10 per day
mountain guide: US$15 per day
assistant mountain guide: US$10 per day
porters: US$6 per day (US$7 per day in the case of the porters who carry your personal luggage up the mountain)
